  2. tyw – turn your work

Materials

  1. Yarn: 100% acrylic yarn, aran/worsted weight yarn. I used hobby store aran yarn
  2. Hook: 4.5 mm
  3. scissors
  4. needle to sew ends

Pattern Notes

  1. Difficulty level : Beginner
  2. terminology : US
  3. Size : 3 inches wide, 9.5 inches long (without handles)
  4. We will work row by row. This means that after making one row, you will turn your project over and then make a new row. It is made with Suzette stitch, so it looks the same from both the front and back.
  5. Turning chain will not be counted.

How to Make Handmade Mug Cozy Crochet Project

  1. Chain 12
  2. Row 1 : Make 1 sc in the second chain from the hook.
  3. make 10 more sc in this row. Total 11sc
  4. Row 2 : chain 1, tyw
  5. work suzette stitch in first sc of previous row.
  6. skip 1 st.
  7. work suzette stitch in next sc of previous row.
  8. *step 5 to step 7* repeat across
  9. Make 1 sc in the last stitch of the row.
  10. Row 3-30 : work same as row 2
  11. Handles : Don’t f/o , work 16 chains , Join the first stitch of this row with the help of slip stitch.
  12. f/o, cut the yarn , weave the ends
  13. To make its second handle, attach the yarn by making a slip stitch in the first stitch of the first row. Make 16 chains. Then join it to the last stitch of the same row.
  14. f/o, cut the yarn, weave the ends.

Points to keep in mind

  1. Make only 1 sc in the last stitch of every row, do not make a dc in it, otherwise the edges will become uneven.
  2. To start a new row, take 1 turning chain.
