What is striped double crochet mesh stitch

This stitch is made using a combination of double crochet and chain stitch. One row is airy, but the other row is dense.

In which projects can this stitch be used?

I used this stitch to make a headband that you can also wear around your waist. Striped double crochet mesh stitch is airy, so you can use it :

Materials:

Yarn: You can take yarn of your choice, here I have used 100% cotton DK yarn.

Hook: Choose the hook size according to the yarn, I have used 4.5 mm.

How to crochet: striped double crochet mesh stitch

Here we are making a swatch . Chain 34 (even number)

Row 1: 1 dc in the fourth chain from the hook

*Chain 1, skip 1 st, 1 dc*

Row 2: chain 3, tyw,

*1 dc in ch sp , 1 dc in the previous row st, 1 dc in ch sp*

Row 3-6: repeat row 1 and 2

f/o, weave the ends.

FAQ

How to keep edges straight?

When we are making rows 1,3,5,7… then we have to take turning chain 3+1, and when we are making rows 2,4,6…. then we have to take turning chain 3.
While starting row 2, first take dc ch in sp and not in previous dc st.
When ending rows, always take the last dc in the turning chain of the previous row into the 2nd chain.

Number of stitches is not same

This happens mostly when 2 DCs are made instead of 1 in Ch SP.
