The Best Fast Beginner Crochet Project : Quick Half Double Crochet Gift Bag

You’ve learned all the basic stitches and created a beginner project, a face scrubbie. This will be our second project in the Fast Beginner Crochet Project series. This project uses the half double crochet stitch you learned earlier.

This is a small and quick project that’s also useful for you. With the festive season approaching, this crochet gift bag will be a great gift to give to someone you love. And you can proudly say you made it yourself.

If you have any trouble making it, I’ve also created a video tutorial. If you still have any questions, you can ask me in my Facebook group or leave a comment here.

I used 100% acrylic yarn, and I recommend acrylic yarn as well, as it’s stretchable and allows for a wide variety of items. If acrylic yarn isn’t available, you can use any other yarn.

Top 5 Practical Uses for Your New Crochet bag

This small, quick-to-make pouch is a versatile little project. This fast beginner crochet project is great for using up leftover yarn and learning to work in the round. Here are the five best ways to put your new creation to use:

  1. Earbuds and Charger Organizer: Use it to neatly store your earbuds, small charging cables, or wall adapters. This keeps them from getting tangled or lost at the bottom of your larger bag.
  2. Travel Jewelry Keeper: It’s the ideal size for securing delicate items like earrings, rings, or thin necklaces when you travel. The soft crochet texture helps prevent scratches.
  3. Lip Balm and Cosmetic Pouch: Keep small necessities like your lip balm, hand cream, or carmex contained. No more digging around your purse for those tiny essentials!
  4. Coin Purse or Key Holder: Perfect for holding loose change, folded bills, or a few essential access cards (like a metro card or work badge).
  5. A Reusable Gift Bag: Turn the pouch itself into a beautiful gift. Fill it with a small treat like a fancy soap, a cute keychain, or chocolates, and you have a lovely, handmade package ready to give!

Join ends to drawstring

When you weave both drawstrings into the bag, you will have two ends of the drawstring on each side. Tie these two ends together with a knot.

Now weave both strings into a triangle with the help of a needle.

Now place the second triangle on the first triangle like a sandwich and join them by holding them together.

Do the same on the second string.

DONE! your fast beginner crochet project, your own crochet gift bag is ready.
