Moss Stitch Crochet Guide: Easy Video Tutorial for Beginners

Hello everyone, This is moss stitch crochet guide. It is very simple and beautiful stitch. It is very easy to make, it is a beginner friendly stitch. It is not only known as moss stitch but also by other names, it is also called linen stitch and granite stitch.

I made an ear warmer using this stitch. It looks very stylish to me. You can also check out the tutorial.

To make this, you just need to know how to make single crochet stitch and chain.

Pattern Notes –

Terminology : US

Difficulty: Beginner

Stitches Used: Chain, single crochet

Materials –

  • Yarn: 100% acrylic aran yarn or you can use any yarn
  • Hook: 5.5 mm hook or according to your yarn
  • Stitch Marker if you needed

Abbreviation-

ch – chain

sc – single crochet

ch-sp – chain space (means space between 2 single crochets made by chain)

Method-

  • 1. Chain 12
  • 2. 1 sc from the second chain from the hook.
  • 3. 1 ch
  • 4. Skip 1 stitch
  • 5. 1 sc
  • 6. Skip 1 stitch

repeat this process(3 to 6) until you reach the end of the row

  • ch2
  • turn your piece
  • sc between the ch-sp of the previous row
  • 1 ch
  • sc between the ch-sp of the previous row

repeat this pattern untill you reach the end of the row.

make as many as rows you want.
